About the Robert K. Greenleaf
Center for Servant-Leadership
The Center's mission is to fundamentally improve the caring and quality of all
institutions through a new approach to leadership, structure, and decision
making. Servant-leadership emphasizes increased service to others; a holistic
approach to work; promoting a sense of community; and the sharing of power in
decision-making.
About the Greenleaf Center Speakers

Shann Ferch, Ph.D. is the Chair of the Doctoral Program in Leadership
Studies at Gonzaga University, a program that employs Robert Greenleaf’s
Servant-Leadership as one of its central approaches. His recent essay,
Servant-Leadership, Forgiveness, and Social Justice was selected for
the nationally acclaimed Voices of Servant-Leadership Series through
the Greenleaf Center. Dr. Ferch is a research psychologist with the
U.S. Government’s Centers for Disease Control, and a marriage and
family psychologist in private practice. His work regarding leadership
and the human will to forgive and reconcile has appeared in scientific
journals internationally. His keynote addresses and consulting services
draw individuals and organizations to a genuine understanding of the self,
the role of work, and the idea of living a meaningful, significant life.

Jim “Gus” Gustafson, Ph.D. is currently Sr. Manager of Organization &
Leadership Development at US Cellular and has over fifteen years of
experience in successful organization development, sales, marketing,
operations, leadership development, channel management and general
management in both public and private companies. He consults, speaks,
and writes on a variety of topics including socially responsible
leadership, appreciative inquiry, corporate social responsibility,
organizational & team effectiveness, and servant-leadership development.
Gus lives in West Des Moines, Iowa with his wife and their two young
children. He is the Founder and Executive Director for the Center for
Socially Responsible Leadership and is the Editor-in-Chief of The
Organization Development Journal for the 2004-2007 term.
