The following are the volunteer opportunities we have for the upcoming Midwest Scholastic Rowing Championships on May 14 and 15, 2005.
We will need the help of every parent for this to be successful, so mark your calendars today! Positions filled on a first come first serve basis. Reply with your name, job and shift request, phone and e-mail. Friends, neighbors, relatives, siblings are all welcome to join in. Free food vouchers will be given to volunteers who work a whole shift.
Parking Directing traffic in the park to help maintain order and prevent illegal parking. Three shifts on Saturday, two shifts on Sunday. 16 per shift needed.
Saturday 6:00-10:00 am., 10:00 am- 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm 6:00 pm. Sunday 6:00 am 10:00 am, 10:00 am 2:00 pm.
Food Concessions Assist the pros from the Montgomery Inn (Official Caterers of the event) to sell their products. Two shifts, 5-6 per shift both Saturday and Sunday in main tent. Saturday 9:00 am -1:00 pm, 12:30 pm 5:30 pm, Sunday 9:00 am 2:00 pm
Registration Seated in a tent, helping teams with registration related tasks. Two shifts, Friday afternoon-evening, Saturday morning (early, 6:00 AM)). 4 people per shift.
Friday 4:00 pm 8:00 pm, Saturday 6:00 am 11:00 am
Weigh-In One shift early Saturday morning. Ready to go at 6:00 AM. Two people.

T-Shirt Sales Act as sales people selling the events fund raising t-shirts. In main tent. Three people per shift, two shifts on Saturday, One shift on Sunday. Saturday 9:00 am -1:00 pm, 12:30 pm 6:00 pm, Sunday 9:00 am 2:00 pm
Program Sales Selling the regatta program. Three shifts on Saturday starting early, and one on Sunday. Two people per shift, seated and easy. Saturday 6 :00-10:00 am., 10:00 am- 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm 6:00 pm. Sunday 6:00 am 10:00 am.
Finish Line Learn how to judge a finish. Be in the midst of the action. Easy work, but requires good eyesight and the ability to FOCUS when the time comes. Eight people per shift required, three shifts on Saturday and two on Sunday. Saturday 6 :00-10:00 am., 10:00 am- 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm 6:00 pm. Sunday 6:00 am 10:00 am, 10:00 am 2:00 pm.
Coaches Meeting Coordination Assist coaches during their meeting. One shift, 4 people, Saturday late afternoon early evening. 4:00 pm 8:00 pm.
Race Results Managing and posting the regatta results. Three shifts on Saturday and two on Sunday. 2 people per shift. Saturday 6 :00-10:00 am. 10:00 am- 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm 6:00 pm. Sunday 6:00 am 10:00 am, 10:00 am 2:00 pm.
Stake Boat Holders Hold and steady boats at the start. Requires lying down on the dock. Looking for youthful volunteers (students from 7th grade up). A very cool view of the race as the boats power off the starting line. Three shifts on Saturday, two on Sunday, 50 volunteers needed. 6 :00-10:00 am. 10:00 am- 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm 6:00 pm. Sunday 6:00 am 10:00 am, 10:00 am 2:00 pm.
Dock Operations Assist Dock Master with Bow Numbers (handing out and collecting), checking rowers and equipment. Three shifts on Saturday and two Sunday, three people per shift. 6 :00-10:00 am. 10:00 am- 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm 6:00 pm. Sunday 6:00 am 10:00 am, 10:00 am 2:00 pm.
