- Welcome Julie Toren
Please welcome Julie Toren as our new Clean 'n Green Coordinator. Julie brings
a variety of skills to the Coordinator position: from graphic design, to
composting with worms. She served with AmeriCorps as a Waste Reduction Educator
from 2000-2002 with Metro Regional Government in Portland, OR after receiving
her Bachelors of Science in History from the University of Wisconsin. Most
recently she developed her interests in health and wellness by getting
certification to teach Yoga and Pilates. She brings passion, creativity and
community education experience to the position. She came to Ohio in an
interesting way - walking. She participated in a walk across the United States,
and somewhere in Tennessee, she met her husband, who is from Amelia.

- Volunteer Opportunity with Boys & Girls Club of Clermont County
Dear Fellow Leadership Institute Graduates,
The Boys & Girls Club of Clermont County is planning a Black Tie Auction
fundraiser to take place March 12, 2005. We hope you will mark your
calendars now and make plans to attend! There will be many valuable and
one of a kind items up for the highest bidder and we promise to treat
you to an elegant evening of fine dining and entertainment.
Our volunteer kick-off event is Wednesday September 22, 7:00 p.m. at Royal
Oak Country Club. This is an opportunity to help in a way that will be a lot
of fun! Our plans to expand services into all corners of the County depend on
our ability to raise the funds necessary to pay for increasing program staff,
supplies, transportation, and operating expenses. The auction will help us do
that in two ways - 1) by raising a significant amount of money; and 2) by
making a lot of new friends for the Club!
Please attend the volunteer kick-off to find out more about our plans for this
major fund/friend raising event. We expect to have 500 people attend the
auction itself. We hope to have 50 or 60 people on our Auction Committee so
that the many jobs to be done can be bitten off in small bites! I am sure we
have a job that will fit your interests and your time availability. We expect
working on this committee will be fun for all involved. The more the merrier!
Thank you in advance for helping us make this the most successful fund raiser,
and the most exciting social event of the year! For further information or
to RSVP for the volunteer kick-off please contact me at
nancyb10@one.net.
Sincerely,
Nancy Beck
