  1. Educational Leadership Project Presentations August 10
Members of the Educational Leadership Class of 2005 will present their projects on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. at Felicity Franklin High School. All program graduates are welcome to join us for the presentations and for a tour of the new Felicity Franklin High School. See our website for the program.

  2. Announcing "Best Class"
In order to boost individual memberships, the Development Council of the Board of Clermont 20/20 decided to run a campaign during the spring culminating with the close of business on July 13, 2005. The official bragging rights could be bought and paid for in total dollars raised per class in individual memberships and in the highest percentage of total grads contributing. THE BEST CLASS honors now officially belong to the SENIOR Leadership Class of 2005 for most dollars raised and for the highest percentage of giving! See our web site for all the details.

  3. Clermont 20/20 Master Recycler Composter Class
The first Clermont 20/20 Master Recycler Composter course will run Mondays, from Sept 19 - Nov 14, 7:30 - 9:30 pm. Classes will be held at the Union Township Civic Center. The course will be facilitated by Clermont 20/20 Clean and Green. Presenters will be local experts in solid waste, water quality and recycling from the business, municipal and nonprofit sectors. Applications due by August 13. For more information on the Clermont 20/20 Master Recycler Composter Program, call the Clean and Green Collaborative at 513-753-9222.

  4. 9th Annual Starfish Invitational Golf Scramble
The Starfish Foundation is seeking participants for its ninth annual Invitational Golf Scramble, scheduled to be held on Saturday, August 6 at the Pines Golf Club in Felicity. All proceeds from the Golf Scramble will benefit abused and neglected children in Clermont County. The cost for an individual to participate is $80, and $320 for a foursome. The scramble will begin at 9 a.m. After the outing, lunch will be provided and numerous door prizes will be raffled.

The Starfish Foundation was established in November 1996, in memory of John E. McManus, the former Director of the Clermont County Department of Human Services (now the Department of Job and Family Services). The mission of the Starfish Foundation is to continue the legacy of John McManus by making a positive difference in the lives of abused in neglected children in Clermont County. Since 1997, the Foundation has awarded numerous grants to help with such things as tuition and tutoring fees, summer camp fees, medical bills, purchasing playground equipment, as well as providing different agencies with funds to purchase books and other necessary supplies. Most recently, the Foundation helped to fund the Fish-a-thon that is part of Head Start's fatherhood initiative.

Anyone interested in participating in the Starfish Golf Scramble, donating door prizes, or simply making a contribution to the Starfish Foundation should contact Terry McManus at 513-579-5654, or John McManus at jmcmanus@co.clermont.oh.us.

This program is designed to have students work in a professional environment. It also offers students college credits to UC Clermont to encourage further education beyond high school.
