  5. CEO Hosts 'Wildcats Reunion' at Williamsburg High School
On December 19th, Clermont Educational Opportunities, in cooperation with Williamsburg High School Guidance Office, hosted the first annual Wildcats Reunion at Williamsburg High School. Carla Holloway, CEO Advisor at the school, organized this event which invited Williamsburg graduates to return to the school to participate in a question/answer session with current high school seniors. Seven college freshmen currently attending Wright State, OSU, Wilmington, NKU, Xavier, and UC Clermont sat on the panel and discussed hot topics such as campus life, time management, living on-campus with a difficult roommate, study and homework loads, money issues, campus safety, and working during the school year. There were approximately 32 college-bound seniors who attended the question/answer session.

The panel discussion gave the students a forum for frank, realistic discussion among peers about the expectations of college life. This event was such a success that when high school guidance counselor, Leonard Short, asked for a show of hands from the current seniors who would be willing to return next year to be a part of the college freshman panel, nearly 20 students raised their hands!

CEO would like to thank the Williamsburg PTO, which graciously provided the pizza lunch for all of the participants! A wonderful time was had by all and we are proud of all of the students who took the time to participate in this reunion.

Nancy Hall, Program Manager for Clermont Educational Opportunities, attended the event and, based on its success, plans to implement the Reunion program at other schools participating in the CEO program.

  6. How to Put a Wow in Every Tomorrow
    • Develop an attitude of gratitude.
Even when you are experiencing tough times, remember the blessings in your life. It's like sprinkling sunshine on a cloudy day.
    • Encourage others.
When someone has a goal, most people point out the obstacles. You be the one to point out the possibilities.
    • Give sincere compliments.
We all like to be remembered for our best moments.
    • Keep growing.
Walk a different path. Take a class. Read something inspiring.
    • Give the gift of forgiveness.
Forgiveness is a blessing for the one who forgives as well as for the one who is forgiven.
    • Take care of yourself.
Exercise, eat a healthy diet, sing, and dance a little bit every day.
    • Do random acts of kindness.
The most fun is when the other person doesn't know who did it.
    • Treasure relationships.
Eat meals together, take walks, listen. Share laughter and tears. Make memories.
    • Share your faith.
You can wish someone joy and peace and happy things, but when you share your faith - you've wished them everything.
