LEAD Clermont Class of 2011
Leadership is essential to building a strong quality of life in every community. Without leadership, a community cannot be a place that matters to the people who live, work or visit it. More importantly, leadership is the pathway by which a community sustains itself and supports one generation to the next.

Clermont 20/20 is now recruiting for its LEAD Clermont Class of 2011. I invite you to become part of a learning experience that you'll find valuable to you both professionally and as a citizen who lives or works in Clermont County. Each year individuals from business, government, education, social services and other community organizations are selected to participate in this 10 month program that encompasses Clermont County's core elements:

  • History
  • Education System
  • Economic Development
  • Government and Infrastructure
  • Health and Human Services
  • Safety and Justice
LEAD Clermont has a rich history of identifying, developing and involving current and future leaders in Clermont County. The program is also accredited for seven credit hours through the University of Cincinnati Clermont College. The class meets the first Thursday of each month from September 2010 through May 2011 as well as a teambuilding session in late August. The LEAD experience is an opportunity for class members to network with existing and emerging community leaders, explore community issues, and provide leadership and planning assistance to a community project and class day meetings. The tuition for the program is $1,750.

A LEAD Clermont brochure and application with syllabus are available at http://www.clermont2020.org/cli/lead. Applications are being accepted through May 15, 2010 with the selection of class members in June. Please feel free to contact me at 513-753-9222 with any questions.

We wish the following
Alumni and Friends of Clermont 20/20
a Happy Birthday !!!

Happy Birthday Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Underneath their cool, calm and collected exterior, Taureans manage to discreetly stay apart from the crowd, even though they have a well-earned reputation for being socialisers. Some claim that trying to get your point across to a Taurean, should they not want to hear you, is rather similar to talking to the trees - they simply won't budge. Because they work so hard at completing their goals - especially in their career - they value a hard-earned buck. They enjoy the finer things in life - good food and drink and high-end things for themselves and their home.

Acquisition of Former Ford Plant Finalized
UC East Takes Shape
Classes to Begin Fall 2010

It's official - Industrial Realty Group LLC (IRG) finalized the acquisition of the former Ford plant paving the way for the University of Cincinnati and UC Clermont College to begin offering classes in the fall of 2010.

"I am pleased to say that UC East is going to become a reality. We plan on moving swiftly to be able to offer classes this fall at the new location," said Interim Dean Mick McLaughlin.

UC Clermont College will occupy the first floor of the building. The second floor will be occupied by the College of Nursing and Allied Heath offering classes from their programs. UC signed a lease for approximately 81,000 square feet of space at that Batavia Township location.
